Youth In Action Collaboration

On Wednesday, 9/20, an exhibit will go up in St. Martin’s atrium, called “BROADly”.  It is a Youth In Action-designed project, which explores the typography, ethnology and socioeconomic understructure of every neighborhood along Broad St., from Empire St. to the Pawtuxet River.  Please look for it.  Know that YIA’s focus “is on creating opportunities for youth to become their best selves, to address power imbalances that stifle the potential of poor youth and young people of color, and to create more caring and fair public institutions and systems.”  ~ the YIA website,  www.youthinactionri.org

On Sunday, September 24th, some YIA youth and Court King, the Program Director for Youth In action, will talk to us about how the exhibit was created and answer our questions at the adult forum hour.

Tuesday, September 19th, 5:30 pm First of what will be monthly Healing Services.
Healing is usually not a miracle event, but a gradual process of shifting perspectives on the experience of suffering. Seen in this way, we ourselves may have a desire for personal healing. We may wish to support through prayer the healing of someone close to us. We may long for the healing of the world. Or we may long for all three. We hope that many of you may wish to take this opportunity, whatever the situation you find yourself in.
