Lifelong Christian Learning

Saint Martin’s believes that all Christians are called to grow in faith and understanding, and that the spiritual journey is never ending. Opportunities for learning are offered for children, youth and adults.
Children

Christian learning for children ages preschool through fifth grade takes place on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:30 in our third floor Kid zone. Using a lectionary-based curriculum, children study the same lessons adults are hearing in church, and then join their parents for communion. On some Sundays, children are fully incorporated into the entire service with their parents. Special events like Christmas pageants, art projects and service opportunities round out formation for children.
Youth

Saint Martin’s uses the Journey to Adulthood program for middle and high school students. Journey to Adulthood takes adolescent spiritual development seriously, and helps young people claim a faith of their own by creating a sense of community and purpose. Our youth are full participants in the life of the church; they share their gifts and energy generously.

Some of the ways they serve Saint Martin’s and the community:

Making sandwiches for Crossroads, going on mission trips, raising money for outreach through the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, reading scripture lessons, playing musical instruments in church, presenting plays, providing occasional child care.
