Vestry Diversity Statement As a religious community, we share the gifts of love with our fellow Christians. This love is non-conditional and accepts diversity in all of its richness, including race, class, gender and sexuality. Our congregation welcomes and encourages all believers to join us on our Christian journey in the Episcopal faith, A community of believers should be diverse and allow members to learn from one another.
As the nation, Rhode Island, and Providence change demographically, Saint Martin’s recognizes and appreciates the prospect of a more diverse community of parishioners. We view this change as positive. We hope our congregation will adjust to the changing dynamics of a multicultural church in the 21st century.
Diversity Saint Martin’s doors are open to all who seek the Lord’s Table. We are a parish family of diverse ethnic backgrounds and nationalities. We are single, married, divorced or committed to loving relationships. We are widowed and divorced. We are parents, siblings, and children. We celebrate the differences that exist among us and we are blessed with the Word that ties us together as Christians.
